As a photographer, I want to be able to share not only what I see, but how I see it, including how it felt to be there witnessing it. In Nepal, I saw absolute devastation, destruction, and despair, but even amongst the rubble and sadness, I also saw glimpses of hope. It was important to me to show the juxtaposition of this concept and give a sense of hope to what seemed like such a hopeless situation.

Lindsay Daniels is a photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her insatiable appetite for exploring different peoples, cultures, and lands led her to take degrees in Sociology and International Studies as well as acquire a minor in Arabic from the University of Utah. While traveling in the Middle East and various parts of Asia, Lindsay’s passion for photography and storytelling flourished. Her most recent project took her all across the countries of India and Nepal, where she joined forces with NGO Founder Casey Allred and Director Chris Davis to film a documentary on the ever-growing issue of sex trafficking. While in New Delhi, India, on April 25, 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal. The next day, Lindsay and the small crew were on one of the first planes to land in Kathmandu. Armed with bags full of medical supplies and camera gear, they fought to not only tell the story of the people of Nepal, but managed to organize efforts with Nepal Rises to provide over 180,000 people relief supplies within the first few weeks of the disaster.
