      EVENT DETAILS
      WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ICE RACING

This winter will be officially launched in the Salt Lake City area by EXTREME FIRE ON ICE! Rounds 3 & 4 of the 37th Annual World Championship ICE Racing Series will rock The Maverik Center in West Valley City.
This traditional winter motorsport, sanctioned by ICE/International Championship Events, is the longest running and most successful series of its kind anywhere in the world.

North America’s top Motorcycle and Quad racers are busy preparing their fastest machines to compete in this year’s WC Chase. Riders from as far away as North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas and elsewhere will be in West Valley City to take on the best of the West. These elite athletes will be competing in ICE racing’s two Professional Divisions. The lightning fast state-of-the-art Manufacturers World Cup Motorcycles and the wild and unpredictable ICE Unlimited Outlaw Quads (highly modified 4-wheel ATV’s). All of these high powered machines will be equipped with razor sharp steel studded tires allowing for them to achieve incredible speeds on ice but also adding an element of danger not present in dirt track racing. Select Amateur Classes will also be competing giving local racers a chance to compete in the spotlight, on ice, in front of their hometown fans.

Fans will see the world’s top competitors at this unique extreme motorsport. Colorful characters with names to match like “Slammin” Sammy Wiggins, Kevin “The Viking” Anderson, Jake “The Snake” Mataya and “Freight Train” Tom McGrane to name just a few racing in the WC Motorcycle Class. Make no mistake about it on the ice these young men take their sport dead serious!

In the rough and tumble, no hold barred, anything goes Outlaw Quads one name stands head and shoulders above all others. Mandy “Wild Child” Brodil Cervantes started her ICE racing career as a teenager 12 years ago living in California. She took her hard knocks in this previously male dominated sport, stuck with it, worked hard until she eventually started winning races. This determined lady, now living in North Carolina with her husband and daughter, went on with her winning ways to become the most successful ice racer in the sport’s 37 year history. To date Mandy has numerous major event victories and an incredible 5 World Championship Titles to her credit! More than any other rider in either pro division of competition. Over the years The First Lady Of ICE Racing has been a positive role model for many young girls and women throughout the country.

Aside from the crazy antics and contact on the ice, many race fans are intrigued with the lack of rules for the Outlaw Quads. Aside from a maximum width rule, rear wheel drive only and a dead man kill switch requirement, there are no rules! Any engine at any displacement is allowed, any fuel you chose to use, any chassis configuration – anything goes! This being the case we see regularly the Harley-Davidson powered “Thunder Quad”, Suzuki engines in Honda chassis, nitrous oxide injected machines and it’s all perfectly legal in the ICE Unlimited Outlaw Quad Class.
